This piece of work stems from the London Principles and looks at the innovations that are taking place around access to finance for the poor and assesses whether they can be replicated and scaled up to deliver real change in developing countries.
At a workshop 'New opportunities for investment in financial services for the poor: exploring the City's role' hosted by Gresham College, finance professionals and development experts explored innovations in products and service delivery for markets in poorer countries, and considered the commercial investment opportunities which may arise, and the possible impact on the poor.
