Resource scarcity will cause economic problems in the UK and affect our the quality of our lives. So claims a new report that calls for action in managing our resources by measuring their flow through our economy.

The report, 'mass balance movement', was launched in February by Forum for the Future and Biffaward at the House of Commons. It examines the environmental impact of 63 materials (from glass to nitrogen), industry sectors (from automotive to poultry) and UK regions.
