Dylan is not the greatest fan of his older sister. Of course, he loves her a lot, but she's got a way of teasing him that sometimes gets on his nerves. He could do without her ironically sending him gardening tips to his iMe, for instance, when she knows how much he hates it.
It's doubly galling that the only reason he's here early this morning working on the school food beds is because Evie wanted to be in early so that she could get away sooner after lunch to hang out with her boyfriend. Dylan would have been quite happy staying in bed for another hour and walking in later with his mates, but Evie had also pointed-out that he needed to make up some hours for the gardening team, so Dad insisted that they go together.
Just about the only good thing about the whole situation as far as he's concerned is that the gardening activity is also charging his iMe through Kinetica.
Like all schools now, Dylan's is at the heart of the community and serves all of the children in the immediate vicinity. Thankfully this means no more driving school run since it is in easy walking distance of the entire catchment.
Of course, it would be possible to go to a school further away, but the administrative fees this would entail (paid back to the local school) doesn't make it worthwhile. Anyway, since all his local mates go to this school, and he can link up with his global network any time he wants, why would he want to be elsewhere? If nothing else the proximity means that he can stay in bed longer - unless his beloved sister sticks her oar in that is.
